Backåkra Hostel
A warm welcome to Backåkra Hostel in beautiful Österlen! It’s easy to feel right at home here, close to long sandy beaches, the sparkling sea, and the many hidden gems of Österlen.
At Backåkra Hostel you will be met by a lovely mix of families and couples in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with the wonderful garden as a natural gathering point. Here you can walk or cycle to the sea, enjoy swimming and long sandy beaches, visit the mythical Ales stones and take in everything else lovely Österlen has to offer. Staying in a hostel is so much more than renting a room – as a guest you have access to the whole experience; the garden, the guest kitchen, the breakfast buffet and the surrounding environment. How to get to Backåkra Hostel
By bus: From Ystad, take bus 322 toward Skillinge and get off at the Backåkra stop, right outside the hostel.
By bike: From Ystad, you can follow the bike paths along the coast to Hammar. That’s where the bike path ends; you can either continue on the busy coastal road (Kustvägen) for another 10 km or, with the help of a map, opt for the smaller, quieter gravel roads running parallel through the beautiful Österlen landscape. It’s about 20 km from Ystad to Backåkra.
By car: Drive east from Ystad. At the intersection in Kabusa, turn right toward Kåseberga. Continue past Kåseberga and follow Östra Kustvägen for another 5 km. About a kilometer after Löderups Strandbad, you’ll arrive. There are parking spaces adjacent to the hostel.
